What is photojournalism? Photojournalism is several photographs from one event which helps report the news that are put in magazines, newspapers, or media. Why is photojournalism so important? Without photographs people feel like they are only getting half of the story. By photographers taking these photos people feel like they can connect to things that are happening far away, possibly in a different country. How is it different from other forms of photography? Photojournalism is different from other forms of photography because photojournalism is a representation of events that others might not want to see and is an accurate image of what truly happened at that moment. However, when a photographer is taking pictures for a wedding or for a sweet sixteen they are capturing events that the host would like to see unlike photojournalism is more about showing and telling the audience a story about an event that might not be the happiest story to learn about.
